Job Overview: The position involves ensuring the distribution of water in precarious housing neighborhoods and maintaining mini gravity networks. The role also includes quality control of water, supervising treated water production activities, and participating in defining strategies to raise awareness about waterborne diseases. The candidate will be responsible for assessing EHA (Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation) needs based on the evolving context. Since March 2020, SI has been active in France to address issues of water, hygiene, and sanitation precariousness across five territories. Collaborating with metropolitan water and sanitation operators and their foundations, the projects target populations living in precarious housing with limited access to basic services, including potable water, sanitation, and essential hygiene products. SI's strategy focuses on supporting local actors in finding concrete solutions by improving sanitary conditions at sites, including the installation of potable water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure, and developing pilot projects tailored to the context of each intervention area.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the position include:
Ensuring the distribution of water in precarious neighborhoods and maintaining mini gravity networks.
Conducting quality control of water and supervising treated water production activities.
Participating in the definition of awareness strategies against waterborne diseases.
Assessing EHA needs based on the evolving context.
Directly implementing EHA activities such as monitoring chlorination, treated water production, and maintaining gravity networks.
Supporting an agent and assistant in water production.
Initiating standby projects, such as well rehabilitation.
Establishing a link between technical EHA needs and field feedback.
Training community relay maintenance personnel. 1
Monitoring potable water production.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
Experience in a similar position ranging from 0 to 2 years.
Experience in the humanitarian sector also ranging from 0 to 2 years.
Technical skills related to potable water regulations.
Basic plumbing and ultrafiltration knowledge.
Project management skills, including monitoring indicators and planning activities.
Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with partners, teams, and the public.
Good writing skills and autonomy in work.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a technical diploma in water management or an equivalent qualification such as RPEHA Bioforce. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties associated with the position effectively.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have between 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar role. Additionally, experience in the humanitarian sector is also preferred within the same range of 0 to 2 years. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the challenges and dynamics of working in humanitarian contexts, particularly in water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is French. Knowledge of Shimahoré is considered an asset, which would enhance communication and engagement with local communities and stakeholders.

The role is based in Mayotte and is classified as an employee position. The salary offered ranges from EUR 2865 to 2985 gross per month, depending on experience.
