Job Overview:
The Manager Foundations position is a part-time role (50%) that is initially limited until September 30, 2027, serving as a parental leave replacement. The successful candidate will be based in either Bonn or Berlin, Germany, with flexible home office arrangements available. This role is crucial for managing partnerships with German foundations and establishing new contacts to enhance collaboration in the fight against hunger and poverty. The Manager Foundations will be responsible for advising donors and foundation staff, maintaining communication with colleagues in program countries, and contributing to the financing of projects across multiple nations. The position requires a proactive networker who enjoys building and maintaining relationships, and who is eager to learn about the German foundation landscape if they lack prior experience in the sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Manager Foundations include managing existing partnerships with German and international foundations, contributing to project financing, advising donors on their engagement, and maintaining regular communication with program country colleagues for proposal development and project reporting. The role also involves identifying opportunities to deepen collaboration with foundation partners, developing tailored project proposals, representing Welthungerhilfe at conferences and events, coordinating the preparation of reports and presentations, and ensuring smooth contractual and administrative processes related to foundation partnerships. The Manager Foundations will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and must be adept at adapting their approach to different contexts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a university degree or a comparable qualification and possess at least three years of professional experience in an NGO or related fields such as sales, marketing, or key account management. The ideal candidate should be comfortable interacting with a variety of stakeholders, work independently and proactively, and be motivated to contribute to social justice initiatives. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly and engagingly. Proficiency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of German is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A university degree or a comparable qualification is required for this position. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to social sciences, international relations, or other relevant disciplines that equip the candidate with the necessary skills to engage with foundations and manage partnerships effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience, preferably in the NGO sector or in roles related to sales, marketing, or key account management. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of managing relationships and partnerships, as well as experience in project financing and proposal development.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this role, as effective communication with international partners is crucial. Proficiency in German is considered an asset, as it will facilitate interactions with German foundations and stakeholders.
