Job Overview: The Analyst position within the EU Banks & Structured Finance Team at EBRD is designed for an ambitious and self-driven professional who is eager to contribute to the team's mission of supporting financial institutions and structured finance products across the European Union. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the operation leader or senior bankers. Key responsibilities include:
Structuring and Execution: Collaborating with project teams on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, assessing potential risks, preparing internal project documentation, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting: Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of projects, preparing monitoring reports, and making recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
Business Development: Supporting marketing and business development efforts, progressively taking on more complex tasks and responsibilities as expertise is developed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Familiarity with credit analysis, data analysis, and financial software tools is also required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and the ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure is crucial.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts. Professional certifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are also advantageous and indicate a commitment to professional development in the financial sector.
Experience: Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Candidates should have practical experience participating in transactions throughout the full project life cycle, with exposure to the financial institutions sector and bank credit analysis being particularly desirable. Experience in capital markets, equity, and structured credit will also be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization.
