Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer position focuses on supporting UNICEF's education response in Ukraine, particularly in the areas of remedial education and learning recovery. The role involves collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Science and other partners to design and implement effective educational interventions aimed at addressing the significant learning losses experienced by children due to the war. The volunteer will be responsible for providing technical input based on educational science, contributing to program coordination, and ensuring quality assurance in the implementation of learning recovery initiatives. This position is crucial for enhancing the educational trajectories of children affected by the conflict and ensuring they have access to quality education and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will undertake various tasks including: supporting the design and implementation of remedial education programs; providing technical input to enhance program quality; coordinating with local education authorities and stakeholders; conducting analytical reviews of program performance; facilitating technical meetings; preparing presentations and reports; and contributing to monitoring and evaluation processes. The volunteer will also engage with key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and ensure the effective rollout of learning recovery interventions at both national and subnational levels.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a background in education or a related field. They should demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and professionalism in their approach to work. Experience in program coordination and knowledge of educational pedagogy will be advantageous. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple tasks effectively is essential.

Educational Background:
A degree in education, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in educational pedagogy or program management will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of educational systems and practices, particularly in emergency contexts.

Experience:
The position requires prior experience in educational program implementation, monitoring, or evaluation, preferably in a humanitarian or development context. Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or international organizations in education-related roles will be highly valued. Familiarity with the challenges faced by children in conflict-affected areas is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time national UN Volunteer assignment, and the volunteer is responsible for organizing their own accommodation. The contract duration is specified in the vacancy announcement, with the possibility of extensions based on funding and performance. The position offers a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 2246 per month, along with entry and exit lump sums. Medical and life insurance coverage is provided, and volunteers are entitled to annual leave, learning leave, and sick leave as per UNV policies.
