Job Overview:
The internship aims to provide a structured and qualifying professional experience in support of education programs, particularly in digital education, foundational learning, and promoting inclusive and gender-sensitive education. The intern will gain practical experience within an international organization committed to children's rights, contributing to the implementation of educational activities while enhancing their technical, programmatic, and professional skills in an international environment. This internship is part of the Excellence in Female and Inclusion Program, which prioritizes young women and persons with disabilities, aiming to break down barriers to professional opportunities and promote an inclusive and equitable environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will support the education section in implementing programs, including digital education, literacy, and basic numeracy, as well as initiatives aimed at reducing violence in schools. Specific responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of educational programs, contributing to activities promoting girls' education and equal access to learning opportunities, organizing workshops, meetings, and training sessions, supporting awareness-raising activities to reduce school violence, enhancing information management for education programs, developing human interest stories related to education programs, assisting in writing simple reports and meeting summaries, supporting field activities as needed, and contributing to the preparation of communication materials such as summaries, photos, or social media content. The intern will have the opportunity to develop skills in program implementation and monitoring, particularly in digital education and foundational learning, while gaining exposure to various professional environments and standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 25 years, with a focus on young women and persons with disabilities. The internship promotes gender equality and inclusion for persons with disabilities. UNICEF Guinea strongly encourages applications from women and persons with disabilities, in line with its institutional commitments to diversity and inclusion. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in education, social sciences, or governance and public policy studies. No formal professional experience is required, although prior experience (internship, volunteering, or community engagement) is considered an asset.

Fluency in French is mandatory, with a good level of English also required. Knowledge of one of the local languages of Guinea is considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with local communities.

Additional Notes:
The internship will be supervised by the education specialist and will primarily be based in Conakry, with potential missions to other regions. UNICEF will cover travel expenses outside the intervention area according to procedures. The internship duration is 13 weeks, and it is a full-time position. A monthly stipend will be provided in accordance with UNICEF procedures. The intern must obtain health/accident insurance covering the internship period. The intern is allowed to take up to 2.5 days off per month for any reason, including medical reasons, with stipends reduced for absences beyond this quota. The internship is not considered employment, and the intern must not have any immediate family members working at UNICEF. This internship is reserved for nationals.
