Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for the Sustainable Energy Academy (SEA) involves supporting the development of learning modules that focus on sustainable energy practices. Volunteers will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual and textual content of these modules, ensuring that they are engaging and informative. The role requires a hands-on approach to design, utilizing Figma to create visually appealing materials that effectively communicate the intended messages. Volunteers will be tasked with reviewing existing content, integrating new case studies, and ensuring that all materials adhere to the established design system. This position is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for sustainable energy education, as it directly contributes to the Academy's mission of promoting knowledge and awareness in the field of sustainable energy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive review of text template usage across assigned Sustainable Energy Academy learning modules, identifying areas for improvement in content presentation.
Implement adjustments to text templates in Figma to enhance readability and visual balance, following guidance from the SEH team.
Integrate case study content into designated learning modules, ensuring that text, images, and data visualizations are laid out according to the existing design system.
Perform a final quality assurance review of all updated slides, checking for visual consistency, proper alignment, and adherence to the design system.
Document and resolve any issues identified during the review process before final handoff of materials.
Collaborate with other volunteers and the SEH team to ensure a cohesive approach to the development of learning modules.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in using Figma or similar design software for creating and editing visual materials.
Strong attention to detail and a good sense of layout and visual communication.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with sustainable energy concepts and educational content development is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide feedback.
Educational Background: A background in design, communications, education, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have experience or coursework that demonstrates their ability to create engaging visual content and understand educational principles.
