Job Overview: The People & Culture Associate position is designed to provide essential administrative, procedural, and operational support to the People & Culture team within UNICEF. The role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP) support to both internal and external stakeholders. The associate will work under the close supervision of the People & Culture Specialist, contributing to various HR initiatives such as workforce planning, organizational development, change management, and staff engagement. The position requires a proactive approach to facilitate HRBP engagements, support change management initiatives, and enhance staff well-being and recognition efforts. The associate will also play a crucial role in compiling and analyzing HR data to inform decision-making processes and support continuous improvement within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The People & Culture Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties including: supporting the Strategic HR Business Partner in delivering key People & Culture priorities; facilitating strategic HRBP engagements by coordinating inputs and tracking actions; contributing to change management initiatives; supporting staff engagement and well-being initiatives; compiling and analyzing HR data and dashboards; ensuring data accuracy and quality assurance of HR information systems; supporting the preparation and implementation of learning plans; researching and maintaining information on external training opportunities; assisting in organizing courses and workshops; preparing and circulating job advertisements; liaising with candidates during the recruitment process; preparing formal correspondence related to recruitment; initiating reference checks and academic verifications; and monitoring the recruitment process lifecycle.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the People & Culture Associate position should possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. They should have a solid understanding of HR principles and practices, particularly in the context of organizational development and change management. Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to generate insights from HR metrics are essential. The ideal candidate should also exhibit a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and creativity in problem-solving.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field is required for the People & Culture Associate position. Additional certifications in HR management or related areas would be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the field.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in human resources or a related field. Experience in supporting HR functions such as recruitment, employee engagement, and learning and development is highly desirable. Familiarity with HR information systems and data management practices will be beneficial for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for the People & Culture Associate position, as it is the primary language of communication within UNICEF. Proficiency in Urdu or other local languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in Pakistan.
Additional Notes: This is a national UNV assignment, meaning the volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 131,372 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and normal living expenses. The position includes life health and permanent disability insurance, health insurance for up to three dependents, and a resettlement allowance for satisfactory service. The role is full-time and requires a commitment to the mission and values of UNICEF.
