Job Overview:
The Project Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UNFPA's Gender-Based Violence (GBV) portfolio and Youth and Peace programming in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This position is integral to the operational and programmatic support within a system-strengthening approach that aligns with UNFPA's overall strategy. The Project Assistant will work closely with various personnel, including Administrative/Financial and Programme staff, to ensure effective service delivery and communication. The role involves contributing to the preparation of reports, managing logistical arrangements for events, and ensuring compliance with procurement procedures. The Project Assistant will also assist in promoting social cohesion and addressing conflict drivers in the region through various initiatives and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing significant input into technical and logistical aspects of program activities; supporting program officers in budget preparation and financial reporting; arranging venues, transportation, and training materials; assisting with project-related procurement of services and goods; ensuring compliance with UNFPA Procurement Procedures; organizing project meetings and preparing draft minutes; ensuring quality filing of project documents; providing inputs to the communications team; undertaking logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for workshops and meetings; gathering data for event documents; managing program-related travel and visa requirements; raising requisitions in the ERP system; and undertaking any other assignments as requested by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum requirement. A first-level university degree in Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, or related fields is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a proven track record of managing and implementing policies and processes in development organizations or the private sector. Previous experience in implementing UN projects is preferred. Strong technical and organizational skills, the ability to produce analytical reports, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum. A first-level university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Economics, or Political Sciences is desirable and would enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in administrative roles or program support functions. This experience can be reduced to two years if the candidate holds an advanced degree. Proven experience in managing and implementing policies, processes, and systems in development organizations or the private sector is essential, with a preference for candidates who have previous experience in implementing UN projects.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external partners.
