Job Overview:
The Gender Officer position is crucial for implementing the FAO Strategic Framework and the Gender Equality Policy, which aims to achieve gender equality in sustainable agricultural production and rural development. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in socio-economic analysis, policy formulation, and capacity building related to gender equality and women's empowerment in both development and humanitarian contexts. Proficiency in English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant social sciences fields such as social sciences, rural sociology, gender studies, rural development, social anthropology, or agricultural economics. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of gender issues in agriculture and rural development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in socio-economic analysis, policy formulation, and capacity building related to gender equality and women's empowerment.
