Job Overview: The position of Voluntario/a en Línea is part of the Interagency Youth Group's (GIJ) Communication Strategy 2026, which aims to enhance the circulation of strategic information regarding youth through clear, practical, and action-oriented communication products. The volunteer will be responsible for drafting strategic products, including an Executive One Pager on the Youth Guide and content for biannual newsletters. Additionally, the role involves developing internal communication content, such as texts for institutional arts and key messages for internal campaigns. A significant aspect of the job is translating technical content into accessible language, simplifying concepts related to youth to ensure they are understandable and actionable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drafting strategic products, including an Executive One Pager on the Youth Guide and content for biannual newsletters.
Developing internal communication content, including texts for institutional arts (copywriting) and key messages for internal campaigns.
Translating technical content into accessible language, simplifying youth-related concepts to enhance understanding and engagement.
Collaborating with team members to ensure that all communication products align with the overall objectives of the Interagency Youth Group.
Participating in meetings and discussions to provide insights and feedback on communication strategies and products.
Engaging with stakeholders to gather information and perspectives that can inform communication efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to create clear and engaging content. Experience in drafting strategic documents and internal communications is highly desirable. Familiarity with youth-related issues and the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to the values of volunteerism and the mission of the United Nations.
Educational Background: A background in communications, public relations, social sciences, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of youth issues and the ability to engage with diverse audiences effectively.
Experience: Previous experience in communication roles, particularly within non-profit organizations or international development contexts, is advantageous. Candidates should have a proven track record of producing high-quality written materials and engaging with various stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all communication products will be developed in this language. Proficiency in English or other languages is considered a plus, as it may facilitate broader communication efforts and engagement with international stakeholders.
