Job Overview: The position of Voluntarios/as en Línea is aimed at supporting the communication strategy of the Inter-Agency Youth Group (GIJ) as part of the 2026 Communication Strategy. The role focuses on enhancing the visibility of youth initiatives and establishing the group as a technical reference within the United Nations system. Volunteers will be responsible for developing strategic and attractive visual content that accompanies digital campaigns, key dates, and internal products, thereby facilitating understanding and ownership of the youth approach. This role is crucial for engaging with the youth demographic and ensuring that the messaging is both relevant and impactful.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design content for strategic youth dates, including photo-phrases, digital art, and infographics for social media platforms. Adapt content specifically for Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok.
Create visual pieces for institutional campaigns, such as artwork for International Youth Day, Mental Health Awareness, and Peace initiatives. Develop mini infographics that highlight key data relevant to these campaigns.
Provide support for internal communication products by designing visuals for the dissemination of the Youth Guide and creating visual checklists and programmatic infographics.
Engage in creative proposal and conceptualization by suggesting graphic lines, visual styles, and narratives. Adapt technical content into clear and attractive visual formats that resonate with the target audience. The GIJ will provide guidelines, base content, and key messages to assist in these tasks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong understanding of visual communication and design principles. Proficiency in graphic design software and tools is essential. Experience in creating content for social media platforms is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A passion for youth engagement and development issues is also important.
Educational Background: A background in graphic design, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have formal education or equivalent experience that demonstrates their ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role effectively.
Experience: Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design or content creation, particularly in a volunteer or non-profit context. Experience working with youth-focused initiatives or campaigns is an advantage. Familiarity with the United Nations system and its values will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all communications and content will primarily be in this language. Proficiency in English is a plus, as it may be required for certain tasks or communications with international teams.
Additional Notes: This position is a volunteer role, and as such, it may not offer financial compensation. However, it provides valuable experience and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects within the United Nations framework. The role may be part-time or full-time, depending on the availability of the volunteers and the needs of the GIJ.
