Job Overview: The position of Voluntario/a en Línea is crucial for supporting the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program in Bolivia, particularly in the context of a special printed publication that will document the institutional memory, impact, and evolution of volunteerism in the country. The selected volunteer will engage in a process of reviewing, analyzing, and strategically selecting images from a vast archive of historical and recent photographs of UN Volunteers in Bolivia. The goal is to illustrate key milestones, territorial diversity, areas of intervention, and the overall impact of volunteerism in Bolivia, ensuring both narrative coherence and visual quality in the publication.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Voluntario/a en Línea will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: reviewing historical and recent photographic archives provided by UNV; selecting relevant images based on narrative, thematic, and visual quality criteria; classifying photographs according to thematic axes; identifying key images that represent the impact of volunteerism in Bolivia; proposing organized selections for use in the publication, categorized by sections or chapters; verifying basic information associated with the images such as date, location, and context; and collaborating with the communications team to ensure visual and narrative coherence throughout the publication.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to analyze and curate photographic content effectively. They should demonstrate attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for volunteerism and its impact on communities. Familiarity with the UNV program and its objectives would be advantageous, as well as experience in photography or visual arts.
Educational Background: A background in visual arts, photography, communications, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of visual communication principles and the ability to work with diverse photographic materials.
Experience: While specific years of experience may not be required, candidates should have demonstrable skills in photography curation, visual analysis, or related fields. Previous volunteer experience or involvement with non-profit organizations would be beneficial, particularly in contexts related to community development or social impact.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication and collaboration within a Spanish-speaking context. Proficiency in English or other languages would be considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse teams and resources.
