Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is located within the International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch (ITDCB) of the Financing for Sustainable Development Office (FSDO) at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. This internship is designed to be in-person and full-time, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. The internship is unpaid and is expected to last between two to six months, with a start date in June 202

Interns will be supervised by a staff member and will assist in various tasks related to international tax cooperation and development issues, contributing to the UN's mission of sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in drafting, reviewing, and preparing papers, presentations, studies, and reports; attending and summarizing conference proceedings and meetings, including virtual meetings; providing assistance during meetings; conducting research, compiling, and analyzing information on tax matters such as double tax treaties, transfer pricing, and tax base erosion; preparing briefing notes, talking points, and speeches for senior UN officials; following intergovernmental meetings and preparing draft summaries; and assisting with any other ad hoc assignments related to the branch's work. This role is crucial in supporting the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters and the Capacity Development Unit in their efforts to enhance international tax cooperation and mobilize domestic resources for sustainable development.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Additionally, applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications. While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Candidates must provide proof of their qualifications at the time of application.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. This educational background is essential to ensure that interns possess the necessary knowledge and skills relevant to the tasks they will undertake during their internship.

Experience:
