The organization aims to promote justice and support victims of such violence, working in various countries to implement effective legal frameworks and support systems. The TOE is committed to upholding the principles of the United Nations Charter and fostering international cooperation to combat sexual violence in conflict zones.

Job Overview:
The TOE Internship is designed to provide interns with practical experience in the field of international law and human rights, particularly focusing on issues related to sexual violence in conflict. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders, including UN officials, member states, and civil society organizations, while contributing to the mission of the TOE. The internship is structured to allow for both full-time and part-time commitments, with a flexible schedule that accommodates the intern's academic obligations. Interns will be supervised by experienced staff members who will guide them through their tasks and provide mentorship throughout the internship period. This role is particularly suited for individuals who are passionate about human rights, international law, and the work of the United Nations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the work of the TOE. These include monitoring developments in countries of interest, assisting with administrative tasks, organizing conferences and meetings, taking notes, and writing summaries of discussions. Interns will also conduct research to support the TOE's initiatives and may accompany team members to meetings with delegates and other UN offices. Additionally, interns will help prepare public information materials and presentations, ensuring that the TOE's work is effectively communicated to a broader audience. The role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.

This internship is particularly suitable for individuals who are looking to gain practical experience in a professional setting, especially in the context of international organizations and human rights advocacy.

Fluency in English is required for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French is desirable, and familiarity with another official UN language is considered an advantage. The ability to communicate effectively in these languages will enhance the intern's capacity to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the TOE's initiatives.

Additional Notes:
The TOE Internship is an unpaid position, and interns are expected to work four to five days per week, totaling 20-35 hours. The internship duration is initially set for three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months based on the needs of the TOE. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
