Job Overview:
The position of Sign Language Interpreter is integral to the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek's efforts to enhance civic engagement and support democratic institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic. The primary objective of this role is to provide high-quality sign language interpretation services from Kyrgyz to Russian and vice versa, specifically for individuals with hearing loss. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sign Language Interpreter will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: providing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services at meetings, seminars, negotiations, and other events; ensuring that the interpretation is accurate and reflects the original message as closely as possible; advising OSCE staff on accessibility needs, including optimal seating arrangements and interpreter placement; preparing interim and final reports in accordance with the OSCE reporting template; collaborating with event organizers to ensure that all necessary accommodations for persons with disabilities are in place; and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times, reflecting the values and standards of the OSCE. The interpreter will also be expected to engage in continuous professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge in sign language interpretation and related fields.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree, supplemented by specific studies in sign languages with a specialization in interpretation techniques. A minimum of three years of experience in Kyrgyz and Russian sign-language translation is required. Fluency in both Kyrgyz and Russian is mandatory, while knowledge of English is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have experience in sign interpretation within the context of democratization and human rights, as well as experience working with international organizations. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills are also essential. Candidates should demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to integrate a gender perspective into their work.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field, such as linguistics, communication, or social sciences, along with specialized training in sign language interpretation. Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of professional experience in sign language interpretation, specifically in Kyrgyz and Russian.
