Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for the Vaccination Campaign is designed to support WHO Tanzania in its efforts to enhance vaccination coverage through a digital awareness campaign. This role is crucial in the context of World Immunization Week, which emphasizes the importance of vaccination worldwide. Volunteers will be tasked with creating and disseminating informative content that highlights the benefits of vaccines and addresses misinformation prevalent on social media platforms. The campaign aims to engage the public and raise awareness about vaccination, particularly in a country facing challenges such as low vaccination rates and outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. Volunteers will work closely with the communication team and will be provided with the necessary resources and guidance to effectively contribute to the campaign's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop engaging and informative content for social media platforms to promote vaccination awareness.
Disseminate awareness messages to the public regarding the importance of vaccines and preventive measures against infectious diseases.
Combat misinformation related to vaccination on social media by providing accurate information and resources.
Collaborate with the communication team to strategize and implement effective outreach methods.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills related to digital campaigning and public health communication.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the campaign, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Engage with the community and respond to inquiries related to vaccination and health initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex health information in an accessible manner.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse populations.
Familiarity with vaccination and public health issues, particularly in the context of Tanzania, is an advantage.

Educational Background: A background in public health, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience or training in health promotion or community engagement will also be considered.
Experience: Previous experience in volunteer work, particularly in health-related campaigns or community outreach, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to public health and an understanding of the challenges faced in promoting vaccination in vulnerable populations.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is highly desirable, as it will facilitate better communication with the target audience.
