Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks aimed at contributing to the objectives of the Transport Connectivity and Logistics Section. Key duties include:
Contributing to qualitative briefs and reports on maritime transport and related issues within the ESCAP region, evaluating the effectiveness of policies in promoting sustainable development.
Providing inputs for the preparation of analytical reports on maritime transport by collecting information and data from credible sources.
Identifying and gathering information from both primary and secondary sources necessary for studies, while selecting appropriate methodologies for analysis.
Coordinating and liaising with experts from the Transport Division to identify key issues relevant to maritime transport.
Reviewing, analyzing, and compiling collected data and information, and preparing comprehensive reports and briefs that include findings, conclusions, and relevant visual aids such as tables, graphs, and charts.
Preparing presentations on the work conducted during the internship, including lessons learned, to share with the Division's staff.
Undertaking additional tasks as requested that align with the intern's background and interests, including familiarizing themselves with the administrative work typical of UN organizations.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet specific educational requirements. Candidates should be either enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
