Job Overview: The Communication Officer (Digital Content Creation) will play a crucial role in managing UNICEF Malaysia's social media and website content. This position involves creating, curating, and publishing engaging content across various digital platforms to enhance UNICEF's visibility and brand recognition in Malaysia. The officer will be responsible for updating the official website, responding to audience interactions, and advising on best practices in digital content. Additionally, the role includes data collection and analysis to inform content strategy, as well as brainstorming and creating innovative digital content that communicates advocacy messages effectively. The officer will also support various office initiatives and campaigns through digital content expertise, ensuring that all published materials are audience-centric and tailored for maximum impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage social media and website content by crafting and publishing engaging posts across UNICEF's platforms, updating the official website, and responding to audience interactions.
Collect and analyze social media data to inform strategy and provide monthly performance updates to the digital team.
Ideate and create digital content, including human interest stories, press releases, and multimedia materials, ensuring they are optimized for various platforms.
Champion the integrity of UNICEF's digital presence by ensuring all content is fit for purpose and audience-centric.
Assist in events, launches, and campaigns from a digital content perspective, providing expertise as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, or a related field. A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in communication, social media, or digital content is required, along with experience in developing and implementing digital communication strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, design software like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, and social media content creation tools is essential. Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media analytics is also required.
Educational Background: A university degree in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, digital marketing, or a similar field is mandatory for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have at least one year of professional experience relevant to communication, social media, or digital content at the national level. Experience in developing and implementing digital communication strategies is also required, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.
Languages: Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
