Job Overview:
The IT Associate position at UN Women involves executing IT services within the country office, implementing IT management systems and strategies, and providing daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the Chief of ICT and the direct supervision of the Operations Manager. The role requires the IT Associate to review and advise on the use of new technologies that enhance productivity in the regional office. The position promotes a client-oriented approach and involves implementing IT strategies and new technologies in accordance with corporate standards, drafting annual work plans, and ensuring effective functioning of hardware and software in the office. The IT Associate will also be responsible for network administration, providing administrative support regarding IT issues, and facilitating knowledge building and sharing within the Regional Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Associate will be responsible for a variety of duties including implementing IT strategies and new technologies, providing inputs for the development and review of internal ICT policies, drafting the ICT annual work plan, and providing IT support for cloud-based ERP functionality. The incumbent will ensure the effective functioning of hardware and software, including installation, operation, and maintenance of all Regional Office hardware equipment. They will also provide advice on hardware acquisition, perform routine repairs, and maintain communication systems. The IT Associate will monitor network connections, troubleshoot network problems, and liaise with UNON for network issues. Additionally, they will provide technical support in the procurement of new ICT equipment, maintain inventory, and support key events. The role includes diagnosing and prioritizing requests for assistance from staff, meeting ICT onboarding requirements, and contributing to training organization for staff on ICT issues.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a completion of secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates must possess certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent. If the required certifications are not available at the time of recruitment, they must be obtained within six months of hiring.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the IT Associate position includes a minimum of secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Relevant certifications in networking and systems engineering are also required, emphasizing the importance of formal education in the IT domain.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least six years of progressively responsible experience in network administration and the use of hardware/software and telecommunications facilities. Experience with computers and office software packages, including MS Word and Excel, is essential. Familiarity with web-based management systems and modern ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, is desirable. This level of experience ensures that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the technical demands of the position.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.
