Job Overview:
The Assistant position is designed to provide essential administrative support to a team of approximately 15 bankers within the Banking Division of the EBRD. The role encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the office and facilitating the work of the bankers. This includes managing travel arrangements, organizing meetings and events, and performing secretarial duties. The Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining filing systems, updating project databases, and providing support in project preparation and due diligence. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. The Assistant will serve as a focal point for various administrative and operational matters, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant will undertake a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to: providing secretarial support to bankers, coordinating travel arrangements and visa applications, managing diaries and schedules, proofreading and drafting business correspondence, organizing conference calls and meetings, maintaining filing systems for easy retrieval of information, updating project databases, assisting in the preparation of presentations for workshops and seminars, and providing reception cover as needed. The role may also involve liaising with external parties, managing petty cash payments, and handling confidential information with discretion. The Assistant will be expected to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess higher education qualifications and demonstrate fluency in English, with strong written and oral communication skills. Essential qualifications include prior secretarial and administrative experience, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive and flexible attitude towards work. The ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain a pleasant and efficient telephone manner is crucial. Attention to detail, the ability to cope under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills are also required. Candidates should be reliable, conscientious, and able to build effective working relationships in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid academic background that supports their administrative and organizational capabilities, as well as their communication skills in a professional setting.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in secretarial and administrative roles, demonstrating a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a banking or financial institution is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders and possess the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates.

Additional Notes:
This position is a short-term contract lasting 12 months. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to attend the office 50% of their working time.
