Job Overview:
The Consortium Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading the ECHO-funded PROTISTHAA initiative, which aims to enhance anticipatory action systems across Bangladesh. This position requires a strategic leader who can effectively coordinate the consortium, ensuring that all partners work collaboratively towards common goals. The coordinator will be responsible for driving program performance, ensuring that the initiative aligns with donor expectations and strategic priorities. This role involves acting as the main point of contact for various stakeholders, including government entities, donors, and partner organizations, to facilitate cohesive implementation and achieve impactful outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Consortium Leadership & Coordination: Lead the daily operations of the consortium through the Program Management Unit, ensuring effective governance and decision-making among partners. Facilitate collaboration and joint problem-solving to align technical approaches and oversee the implementation of consortium work plans, ensuring coherence across all partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Serve as the primary external representative to government bodies, donors, UN agencies, and international NGOs. Strengthen partnerships with key government institutions and coordination platforms, leading advocacy efforts to institutionalize anticipatory action within national systems. Build strategic relationships to enhance influence, visibility, and impact of the initiative.
  • Program Quality, MEAL & Learning: Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems are in place. Drive evidence generation and knowledge sharing among partners, oversee high-quality reporting, and promote adaptive management based on data and insights.
  • Program Delivery & Compliance: Ensure timely and compliant implementation of the program, overseeing donor compliance, reporting, and contractual obligations. Lead budget oversight and forecasting, ensuring value-for-money approaches are adopted. Support resource mobilization through proposal development and strategic positioning.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Consortium Coordinator position should possess strong leadership and coordination skills, with a proven track record in managing multi-agency initiatives. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. A deep understanding of disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, particularly in the context of anticipatory action, is essential. The candidate should also demonstrate strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience in advocacy and influencing policy at national levels.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a relevant degree in international development, humanitarian studies, public administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred, as it provides a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in humanitarian initiatives and program management.

Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, coordination, or leadership roles within the humanitarian sector is required. Experience working in Bangladesh or similar contexts, particularly with ECHO-funded projects, is highly desirable. The candidate should have a strong background in managing partnerships and stakeholder engagement, as well as experience in monitoring and evaluation processes.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication for this role. Proficiency in Bengali or other local languages is highly advantageous, as it will facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities.

This position is a full-time role, and the contract duration will be determined based on project needs and funding availability. The Consortium Coordinator will be expected to work collaboratively with multiple partners and stakeholders, requiring flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
