Job Overview: The Communication Analyst position is a part-time consultancy role aimed at enhancing the communication strategies of UN Women’s projects in Indonesia, particularly focusing on the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. The consultant will work under the guidance of the Programme Manager for Governance, Peace and Resilience and the Project Coordination Analyst. The role involves implementing communication plans that promote women's empowerment and leadership, ensuring effective visibility of UN Women’s work. The consultant will be responsible for developing outreach strategies, monitoring media coverage, and coordinating communication materials to engage stakeholders effectively. This position is crucial for advancing the communication efforts of the WE Nexus project, which aims to strengthen community resilience in Indonesia.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communication Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the planning and design of external communication strategies and outreach plans.
Integrating communication strategies into project communication plans.
Monitoring and analyzing media coverage and providing insights.
Providing technical inputs for events and campaigns.
Developing presentations for stakeholders.
Attending relevant meetings and coordinating communication materials.
Coordinating the translation and dissemination of publications. 1
Engaging with media partners and maintaining media relations. 1
Coordinating UN Women’s online presence and social media accounts.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. The candidate must have at least 5 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or advocacy, with a demonstrated understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in the UN system, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, is an asset, as is familiarity with KOICA.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as communications, public relations, or journalism. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by additional qualifying experience.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience at the national or international level in public relations, communications, or advocacy is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment, with experience in the UN system being particularly valuable. Familiarity with social media and innovative communication channels is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Working knowledge of Korean is desirable, and proficiency in another official UN language is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This is a part-time consultancy position requiring approximately 15 working days per month, with flexible work arrangements. The consultant will submit monthly reports summarizing outputs by the 10th of each month.
