Job Overview: The People & Culture Partner II serves as a strategic partner to client group leaders and P&C departmental leadership, providing comprehensive support across all P&C disciplines for the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and West Africa regional hub. This role is pivotal in ensuring the consistent application of people strategies across organizational divisions, which encompasses recruitment, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, employee engagement, and workforce planning. The P&C Partner II is expected to lead by example, engaging constructively with collaborators both within and outside the P&C department, and take charge of assigned strategic initiatives on behalf of the P&C department. This position may also involve supervising a People & Culture Partner I, regional P&C staff, and/or project-funded P&C staff, while role modeling best practices and mentoring P&C employees.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the People & Culture Partner II include acting as a strategic advisor to client group leaders and P&C departmental leaders, providing responsive support across all P&C disciplines to an assigned client group, managing workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management cycles, ensuring compliance with labor laws, leading P&C process improvement initiatives, and providing leadership to cross-departmental initiatives. The role also involves overseeing the work of P&C Partner I, regional P&C staff, and/or project-funded P&C staff, resolving complex P&C challenges, contributing to policy alignment and cultural outcomes, and enhancing P&C capacity and standardization within the assigned portfolio.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess advanced expertise across all P&C disciplines, experience working in international organizations or companies, strong consulting, coaching, and conflict resolution skills, project management and facilitation skills, and strong supervisory skills. Proficiency in English and French is also required, as well as the ability to resolve complex P&C challenges with broad organizational impact.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a Master’s degree preferred. Certification as an HR professional is also preferred, indicating a commitment to the field and a level of expertise that is beneficial for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have 8-12 years of experience in P&C roles, particularly in generalist or client-facing capacities within medium to large organizations. A minimum of 3-5 years in a consultative role is necessary, along with supervisory experience. Familiarity with MS Office suite, HRIS systems, and payroll systems is essential, and prior work experience in an international non-governmental organization is advantageous.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is considered a valuable asset for this position, enhancing communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
Additional Notes: The position may require up to 25% travel, both domestically and internationally. The expected salary range for this role in the United States is between USD 110,000 and 130,000 annually. FHI 360 offers a competitive benefits package, including a 7% contribution to a pension plan, 18 days of paid vacation, 12 sick days, and 11 holidays per year for full-time employees.
