Job Overview:
The Finance Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Mobility Hub by ensuring that all financial operations are compliant and efficient. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day financial processes, ensuring accurate financial accounting, and overseeing payments for the Human Mobility Hub. The Finance Officer will contribute to the monthly closing of accounts and reporting in accordance with NRC procedures. Additionally, this role involves supporting reporting and audits and providing hands-on finance support to partners and grantees throughout the project cycle. The Finance Officer is expected to promote technical improvements and ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer's duties include carrying out daily bookkeeping using the NRC accounting system, ensuring timely payment of salaries, contractors, suppliers, and other expenditures. They will prepare and support the monthly financial closing of the Human Mobility Hub's accounting books, ensuring that expenses are allocated according to approved budgets. The Finance Officer will also provide finance verification for purchase and payment requests, lead the preparation for internal and external audits, and review and validate reports from implementing partners. Furthermore, they will provide financial training to partners, maintain petty cash, and proactively identify improvements to financial processes within NRC and its partners. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field. A minimum of three years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a humanitarian context, is required. Experience with ERP systems is essential, and documented results related to the position's responsibilities are expected. Previous experience working with local partners is considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is necessary, along with excellent skills in both English and Arabic.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. This foundational knowledge is critical for understanding financial principles and practices necessary for the role.

Experience:
The Finance Officer should have a minimum of three years of experience in finance and/or accounting, ideally within a humanitarian context. Experience working in complex and volatile environments is also preferred, as it equips the candidate with the skills needed to navigate challenges in such settings.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. This bilingual capability is essential for effective communication within the diverse context of the Human Mobility Hub's operations. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Amman, Jordan, and offers an 8-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance, funding, and the ongoing need for the position. The role may require travel within the region, estimated at 20%. The salary and benefits are classified under Grade 5 according to NRC's salary scale and terms and conditions.
