Job Overview:
The position is for an intern who will support the team in various missions, including conducting an internal and external documentary review, cataloging irrigation projects identified by the RTOs, and performing targeted documentary research with international organizations, research institutes, and NGOs working on agricultural water. The intern will analyze collected internal and external resources, assess approaches and techniques for agricultural water management, and conduct targeted interviews with field and headquarters teams of ACF. The role also involves identifying best practices and lessons learned, consolidating gathered information, and producing concise technical sheets in both French and English on efficient agricultural water approaches, particularly in the context of the climate crisis. The intern will also assist in disseminating these sheets and co-facilitate at least one webinar to present the findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities include:
  • Conducting a comprehensive internal and external documentary review related to agricultural water management.
  • Cataloging irrigation projects identified by the RTOs.
  • Performing targeted research with international organizations, research institutes, and NGOs focused on agricultural water.
  • Analyzing collected resources to assess current approaches and techniques in agricultural water management.
  • Conducting interviews with field and headquarters teams to gather insights on best practices and lessons learned.
  • Consolidating information into concise technical sheets that highlight effective technical and organizational approaches to agricultural water management.
  • Producing technical sheets in both French and English, integrating tools, illustrations, and practical recommendations.
  • Proposing a strategy for disseminating the technical sheets.
  • Co-facilitating at least one webinar to present the technical sheets and findings to a broader audience.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a program related to agronomy, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), rural engineering, or associated fields. They should possess good knowledge of agricultural water management, irrigation, or agroecology. Experience in conducting bibliographic research and writing synthesis notes is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, synthesis, and writing skills, as well as the ability to conduct technical interviews. Strong written and oral communication skills are required, along with a reputation for rigor, organization, and autonomy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in agronomy, WASH, rural engineering, or related fields. A strong academic background in agricultural water management, irrigation, or agroecology is preferred, along with experience in bibliographic research and synthesis writing.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in conducting research and writing synthesis notes, ideally within the context of agricultural water management or related fields. Experience in technical interviews and familiarity with the agricultural sector will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory, while knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus. Strong communication skills in both written and spoken forms are essential for this role.

This is a six-month internship based in Montreuil, France, starting on May 4, 202
  • The internship is compensated at a rate of 4.57 euros net per hour, based on a 35-hour work week. The weekly working time is set at 38.75 hours. Additionally, meal vouchers worth 8 euros are provided, with 60% covered by ACF, and 50% of public transport costs are reimbursed.
