Duties and Responsibilities: The Process Auditor will be responsible for several key tasks:
Reviewing relevant documentation, including mandates, policies, workplans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reports to understand the current operational framework.
Identifying and mapping existing processes and workflows, ensuring they are aligned with ITS mandates and priorities within the training cycle.
Highlighting inefficiencies, duplicative efforts, and bottlenecks in current processes, as well as identifying gaps that need to be addressed.
Analyzing where technology and digital innovations can be integrated into ITS operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Preparing a draft report that outlines findings and recommendations for improvement, followed by a final report that incorporates feedback from ITS.
Ensuring that all recommendations are actionable and aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the UN's peacekeeping efforts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as programme management, accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or public administration. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Additionally, a minimum of five years of experience in auditing, reviewing organizational processes, operational audits, or management consulting is required. Experience in process mapping, workflow analysis, and enhancing organizational efficiency is also essential. Familiarity with the UN or other large international organizations, particularly in relation to peacekeeping mandates and training, is highly desirable. Excellent communication and drafting skills are also required for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree, such as a Master’s degree, in relevant fields like programme management, accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or public administration. Candidates with a first-level university degree may still qualify if they have additional relevant experience. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of organizational processes and the auditing function within the UN framework.
