The contractor will work closely with ICCWC partners, including the ICCWC Technical Experts Group, Public Information Officers, and National Coordinators in priority countries. The role requires the contractor to develop targeted campaigns for ICCWC activities, maintain social media channels, prepare messaging and audio-visual content, and support the development of knowledge products. The contractor will also be responsible for updating the ICCWC Activity Report platform and coordinating with partners to draft the ICCWC Annual Report for 202
This position is crucial for enhancing the visibility of ICCWC's objectives and ensuring effective communication of its activities and successes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
Developing targeted campaigns for ICCWC activities and key events, including planning and delivering communications around meetings and activities organized by ICCWC partners.
Maintaining the ICCWC social media channels and website, preparing messaging and audio-visual content, including news items, success stories, and press releases according to an annual calendar.
Supporting relevant deliverables under ICCWC projects, including developing knowledge products and sharing best practices.
Updating and maintaining the ICCWC Activity Report platform and coordinating with partners to draft the ICCWC Annual Report for 202
Reviewing, updating, and designing ICCWC knowledge products in various languages.
Updating and maintaining the ICCWC SEG Visibility folder.
Providing input to relevant ICCWC project reports and proposing new ways to highlight successes.
Implementing activities of the ICCWC Visibility Strategy, including revising branding and messaging guidelines.
Designing and formatting the ICCWC Strategic Action Plan for 2027-2030 and preparing a promotional plan. 1
Developing communications reports and completing other assigned tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include an advanced university degree in media, communications, or social sciences (Master’s degree or equivalent). Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in media and communication, public relations, social media management, creative copywriting, design, and content development. Experience in producing annual reports and communications materials for international organizations or government agencies is also required. Previous experience related to CITES and wildlife crime is essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to challenging environments.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in media, communications, or social sciences. A first-level university degree may be accepted if combined with two additional years of relevant experience. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of media and communication strategies necessary for the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in media and communication, public relations, and social media management. Candidates should have a proven track record in creative copywriting, design, and content development, as well as experience in producing communications materials for international organizations or government agencies. Familiarity with CITES and wildlife crime issues is also necessary, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable, as these are also working languages of the CITES Secretariat. Proficiency in these languages will enhance communication with a broader range of stakeholders and partners.
