Job Overview:
The position of consortium coordinator is crucial for structuring and stabilizing projects implemented with local and international partners. The coordinator will support projects such as the Multisectoral Support Project for Strengthening the Resilience of Vulnerable Populations in Wadi Fira province and the Project Supporting Resilience to Food and Nutritional Insecurity for Sudanese refugees and host populations. The coordinator will work under the supervision of the East Operations Manager and will be responsible for ensuring efficient, coordinated, and contextually adapted implementation of activities in a complex and evolving environment. This role involves optimizing project quality and impact through appropriate delegation and control mechanisms, as well as sharing responsibility for solid management and optimal functioning of the overall organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Management of donor and partnership relations: Ensure compliance with donor rules and contractual commitments, including consolidation, control, and reporting of operational and budgetary elements. Represent HI and consortium members to local, national, and international authorities and organizations. Organize governance structures for the project and facilitate internal coordination among team members and relevant services. Manage partnerships and associated contractual documents.
  • Coordination of operations: Ensure coherence in strategy and project execution in collaboration with relevant services. Plan jointly and ensure consistency in project implementation approaches. Guarantee application of HI quality standards and follow up on recommendations from evaluations and audits. Facilitate audits and implement their recommendations. Manage and compile project data, ensuring proper data collection and management tools are in place. Contribute to organizational transformation and improve work processes.
  • Principles and expertise: Ensure deployment and adherence to global reference frameworks, institutional policies, and HI principles, including compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, conduct, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have solid experience in managing humanitarian and resilience projects, with a strong grasp of strategic oversight, budget monitoring, and program quality. Experience in managing institutional, technical, and financial partnerships, as well as consortium management and external representation, is essential. Candidates should also be familiar with compliance issues in high-risk contexts, and experience in fragile settings is a plus.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in humanitarian studies, international development, project management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees may be preferred depending on the specific requirements of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should possess substantial experience in project and program management within humanitarian contexts, ideally in roles similar to that of a consortium coordinator. Experience in fragile or conflict-affected areas is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the operational challenges faced in such environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, given the operational context in Chad. Proficiency in English is also highly desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages can be an advantage.

  • The contract includes social coverage tailored to individual needs, such as unemployment insurance for EU nationals, retirement insurance, health coverage, and repatriation. The salary starts at €2970 gross per month, depending on professional experience, with additional benefits including a monthly per diem of €817, hardship allowance of €500, 25 days of paid leave per year, and 5 days of rest and recuperation every three months. The position is unaccompanied, with collective housing provided by HI. If the candidate is a resident of Chad, a local package will be offered.
