Job Overview: The position of (Associate) Cross-Business Reporting for Market Risk Officers is integral to the EIB's Finance Directorate, specifically within the Strategy, Policies & Business Support Department. The role requires a proactive approach to improving and executing operational controls related to trade capture, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting. The successful candidate will engage in critical business analysis and project implementation, managing data related to control activities and delivering essential risk reports to support decision-making processes in the Front Offices. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the (Associate) Cross-Business Reporting for Market Risk Officers include performing daily market risk controls on Treasury portfolios and balance sheet exposures, producing and analyzing risk metrics, and preparing market risk reporting for internal governance bodies. The role also involves enhancing key Treasury and Funding reports, executing market risk quality checks, providing operational support to Front Office colleagues, and participating in systems migration and automation initiatives. Additionally, the officer will contribute to transversal projects and maintain relationships within the bank, particularly with Wall Street users and other internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Applied Finance, or Applied Mathematics. For grade 4, a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience is required, while grade 5 requires at least 5 years of experience. Candidates should have relevant financial and business analysis experience, in-depth knowledge of trading and asset classes, and strong programming skills in languages such as VBA, MATLAB, C++, or Java. Familiarity with the bank's core applications, including Wall Street, Refinitiv, and Bloomberg, is also essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding complex financial concepts and performing the analytical tasks associated with market risk reporting and analysis.
Experience: The level of experience needed for this position varies by grade. For grade 4, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, while grade 5 candidates must have at least 5 years of experience. This experience should preferably be in Treasury and Capital Markets products or structured finance, gained in investment banks, audit firms, or consulting companies.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, and a good command of French is also required, as both are official working languages of the EIB. Knowledge of other EU languages would be advantageous, enhancing communication within the diverse environment of the bank.
