Job Overview:
The Liaison Officer position at DRC is crucial for ensuring the effective application of the Safety Risk Management System (SRMS). The officer will work under the guidance of the Head of Safety (HoS) to identify and mitigate risks associated with DRC's operations. This role involves conducting safety risk assessments, providing daily briefings, and offering cultural insights to ensure the safety of staff and the successful implementation of programs. The Liaison Officer will also be responsible for managing safety improvements in DRC compounds and field sites, making recommendations to field teams, and representing DRC positively in all interactions. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Liaison Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including advising on safety matters and providing timely reports to management. The officer will develop local safety plans, conduct safety risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety standards and emergency plans. Additionally, the Liaison Officer will supervise security personnel, oversee safety equipment and procedures, and liaise with security stakeholders to negotiate access when necessary. The role also involves planning and delivering safety awareness training to staff, submitting regular situational reports, and monitoring the overall safety and security situation in the designated area of operations.
