Job Overview: The Cloud Network Analyst position is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit of the World Bank Group. This role is focused on the design, development, implementation, and operation of enterprise cloud network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be expected to combine network engineering expertise with programming skills to work effectively with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. The position involves leveraging automation tools and developing custom scripts to enhance network performance and reliability. The analyst will play a key role in maintaining the organization's cloud network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and diagnosing issues across various network components. The role also emphasizes proactive monitoring and reporting, requiring the analyst to create automated alerts for network events and maintain comprehensive documentation for peer and management review. Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Cloud Network Analyst include:
Designing, developing, and implementing cloud network infrastructure on platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Utilizing automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python) to automate network tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
Monitoring the performance of the cloud network infrastructure and diagnosing issues related to switches, routers, firewalls, and other network components.
Creating automated reports and alerts for network events to improve proactive monitoring capabilities.
Updating and maintaining documentation related to network architecture, procedures, and performance reports.
Handling escalation calls from the Network Operations Center (NOC), performing triage, and resolving issues or escalating them to team members as necessary.
Traveling to other World Bank Group offices as needed to support knowledge sharing and facilitate deployments.
Providing on-call support on a rotational basis and being flexible to work shifts, including night shifts if required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Network engineering experience is a prerequisite for this position, along with hands-on experience with AWS and Azure network concepts. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing firewalls, Cisco routers, and switches, as well as a solid understanding of network engineering fundamentals and services.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field with 2 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in network engineering or a related area. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered. A strong foundation in network engineering principles and practices is essential.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for those with a Master’s degree, or at least 4 years of experience for those with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in network engineering, particularly in large enterprise environments, is crucial. Familiarity with cloud platforms and network automation tools is highly desirable.
