Job Overview:
The International United Nations Volunteer (IUNV) position is designed to support the World Health Organization's efforts in South Sudan, particularly in the context of health systems strengthening. The role involves assisting in the implementation and updating of practical tools and guidelines that facilitate the management of common diseases, with a focus on integrated service delivery. The IUNV will work closely with the Public Health Officer and other technical leads to ensure that health services are effectively integrated and accessible to vulnerable populations. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and evaluating health service delivery, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders to promote coordinated efforts in health care. The IUNV will also be responsible for supporting the training and capacity building of health workers, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver quality care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IUNV will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:

• Supporting the rollout of digital and analogue care pathway tools across primary health care centres (PHCCs), which involves training health workers, supervising their implementation, and monitoring the effectiveness of these tools.
• Monitoring and updating age-specific syndromic and symptom-based management flowcharts for the ten most common conditions across various age groups, ensuring alignment with national health priorities and WHO guidelines.
• Mapping and engaging key stakeholders and implementing partners at both national and sub-national levels to facilitate coordinated implementation of health tools and guidelines.
• Supporting integrated supportive supervision, which includes conducting quality of care assessments, developing supervision reports, and providing constructive feedback to health workers.
• Participating in technical meetings and consultations as required by the supervisor, contributing to discussions on health system strengthening and service delivery improvements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the IUNV position should possess a strong background in public health or a related field, with a focus on health systems strengthening. They should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, and possess excellent communication skills. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of health service delivery frameworks and guidelines, particularly in low-resource settings.
