Job Overview: The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position is crucial for the effective implementation of logistics functions at the Mueda Field Office level, ensuring alignment with NRC policies, procedures, and standards. The Logistics Officer will work under the supervision of the Logistics Team Leader, responsible for the day-to-day logistics activities, ensuring compliance with the NRC Logistics Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and donor requirements. The position is designed to maintain accurate records, support reporting processes, and ensure resources are utilized efficiently and transparently. The Logistics Officer will collaborate closely with program and support teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, thereby contributing to the overall quality and accountability of NRC operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will implement delegated logistics functions in compliance with NRC policies, procedures, and guidelines, supporting the Logistics Team Leader in ensuring efficient logistics operations at the Mueda Field Office. Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring compliance with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements.
Implementing delegated logistics functions in line with the approved plan of action.
Supporting the Logistics Team Leader in monitoring logistics activities and identifying gaps or areas for improvement.
Ensuring proper filing of all logistics documents in accordance with the Securing Supporting Documentation (SSD) SOP.
Assisting in the preparation of internal and external logistics reports as required.
Supporting the administration and use of resources in a cost-effective manner within approved budgets and timelines.
Promoting and sharing ideas for improvement of logistics systems, routines, and procedures. Specific responsibilities include: Fleet Management, Asset Management, and Stock Management, which involve maintaining vehicle records, monitoring fuel consumption, updating asset registers, ensuring compliance with stock management procedures, and coordinating with various departments for effective logistics operations.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Logistics Officer position should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working in logistics, supply chain, or operations, preferably within a humanitarian or development context. A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field is required. Candidates should have a basic understanding of logistics functions, including fleet, asset, and stock management, and experience with logistics procedures, tools, and reporting systems. Proven ability to maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organizational requirements is essential, along with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is necessary. Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is mandatory, and knowledge of local languages is considered an added advantage.
