Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Capacity Development Operational Training Service (CDOTS) of the Department of Operational Support (DOS) at the United Nations. The primary focus of this role is to assist the CDOTS Campus Team in enhancing the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensuring the effective implementation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Interns will engage in quality assurance testing of eLearning courses, develop user documentation, and provide support for LMS users. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operational training and eLearning initiatives within a prestigious international organization, while contributing to the development of training resources that support the UN's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the general supervision of the Team Lead. Key duties include: conducting quality assurance testing of eLearning courses to ensure compliance with platform standards; developing comprehensive documentation and tutorials for various LMS users, including learning managers and course developers; triaging support tickets and responding to user queries related to account management and troubleshooting; assisting in the implementation of new LMS SOPs; collaborating with stakeholders to enhance eLearning initiatives; and ensuring that eLearning courses are interactive, user-friendly, and aligned with enterprise Learning Management Platform standards.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in fields such as Instructional Design, Education Technology, or Adult Learning. Alternatively, applicants may be in their final year of a bachelor's degree program in a related field. While professional work experience is not required, a strong academic background in a relevant area is essential. Familiarity with Moodle-based Learning Management Systems and proficiency in content authoring and media design software are highly desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a graduate degree or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program in a relevant field such as Instructional Design, Education Technology, or Adult Learning. This educational background is crucial for understanding the principles of eLearning and instructional design, which are central to the internship role.
Experience: While no prior professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have a strong academic foundation in a field closely related to the internship. Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this internship, as English is one of the working languages of the United Nations.
