Job Overview: The Advocacy Focal Point will work under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, playing a crucial role in shaping the advocacy strategy for Action contre la Faim in Afghanistan. This position involves acting as the primary advocacy representative for the mission, providing direct support, developing strategic engagements, and formulating recommendations. The role requires collaboration with program and support teams, as well as local partners, to enhance their advocacy capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that programmatic data and analysis are effectively utilized for advocacy and communication purposes. Additionally, the Advocacy Focal Point will develop and implement an advocacy strategy aligned with both ACF's global objectives and the specific needs of the Afghanistan mission, while also executing external communication initiatives aimed at influencing stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the primary advocacy focal point for Action contre la Faim in Afghanistan, providing direct support to the mission.
Develop positioning and strategic engagements to enhance advocacy efforts.
Identify and recommend actions based on advocacy needs and objectives.
Collaborate with program and support teams to build their capacity in advocacy.
Ensure programmatic data and analysis are available for advocacy and communication initiatives.
Develop and implement the ACF advocacy strategy for Afghanistan, ensuring alignment with global and mission-specific strategies.
Carry out external communication initiatives that relate to ACF's mission, targeting external stakeholders to influence their perspectives and actions.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Master's degree in International Relations, International law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Humanitarian Law, Social Sciences, Politics, Development Studies, or a related field. Proven experience in humanitarian advocacy is essential, including high-level representation, negotiation, and influencing aid policies. Experience in insecure or volatile environments is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, the ability to synthesize complex issues into strategic insights, and possess knowledge of international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, along with proficiency in advocacy tools and processes.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, International Humanitarian Law, Social Sciences, Politics, or Development Studies is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian advocacy and the broader humanitarian system.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience in humanitarian advocacy, particularly in high-level representation and negotiation. Experience working in challenging environments, such as conflict zones or areas affected by natural disasters, is highly valued. Additionally, experience in humanitarian or development aid and project management is beneficial for this role.

Additional Notes: The position offers a 6-month contract for national applications, adhering to the internal and national salary conditions of Action contre la Faim in Afghanistan. For international applications, a fixed-term contract under French legislation is provided, also for 6 months. The monthly gross salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month payment. Additional benefits include reimbursement of pension insurance for non-French citizens, annual salary increases, monthly per diem and living allowances, cold allowances for winter equipment, child allowances, transportation and accommodation coverage, and comprehensive medical coverage. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation days, and airfare reimbursement for chosen break destinations.
