Key responsibilities include analyzing the compatibility of Uzbekistan's national legislation with Article 12 of the CRPD, reviewing the implications of the country's reservation to this article, and identifying gaps and barriers that hinder the exercise of legal capacity by persons with disabilities. The consultant will also consult with organizations representing persons with disabilities and other relevant actors to gather qualitative insights, which will inform the analysis and recommendations. The final deliverables will include a detailed report with a summary of findings, legal implications, and actionable recommendations for legislative reform.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in law (LLM or equivalent) or in the social sciences. A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in human rights and legal analysis, particularly concerning the rights of persons with disabilities, is required. The consultant should demonstrate expertise in international human rights standards and the CRPD, showcasing a strong understanding of legal frameworks and their implications for marginalized groups.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in law (LLM or equivalent) or in the social sciences is mandatory for this position.
