Job Overview:
The Associate on Partnership Building and Private Sector Engagement for Gender Equality will work closely with the Head of Office to develop and manage partnerships with private sector entities. The primary goal of this position is to mobilize resources, expertise, and innovation in support of UN Women's programs. The role involves providing technical and administrative support in the area of women's economic empowerment, particularly in designing and implementing programs related to the private sector and Women Economic Principles (WEPs). The Associate will be responsible for preparing and updating private sector stakeholder mappings, identifying potential foundations and philanthropic organizations to strengthen partnerships for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) in Kazakhstan, and overseeing due diligence processes. Additionally, the Associate will support the documentation and organization of knowledge, experiences, good practices, and lessons learned, as well as monitor the implementation of related programs and projects, preparing follow-up and monitoring reports as necessary. Coordination with the UN Women communication area for developing communication materials and articles for the official UN Women bulletin is also a key aspect of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate on Partnership Building and Private Sector Engagement for Gender Equality include:
  • Providing technical and administrative support to the team in the area of women's economic empowerment, particularly in the design and implementation of programs and projects related to the private sector and Women Economic Principles (WEPs).
  • Preparing and updating private sector stakeholder mapping to identify potential partners.
  • Listing potential foundations and philanthropic organizations to build and strengthen partnerships for GEWE in Kazakhstan.
  • Conducting all due diligence processes necessary for partnership development.
  • Supporting the documentation, development, and organization of knowledge, experiences, good practices, and lessons learned related to gender equality initiatives.
  • Monitoring the technical, programmatic, and financial aspects of the implementation of related programs and projects.
  • Preparing follow-up and monitoring reports for the projects to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Coordinating with the UN Women communication area to develop communication materials and articles for the official UN Women bulletin, ensuring that the organization's messaging is consistent and impactful.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Associate position include a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment issues, particularly in the context of private sector engagement. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders. A solid understanding of project management principles and experience in monitoring and evaluation processes are also essential. Educational Background:
Candidates for the Associate position should have a relevant educational background, typically a degree in social sciences, gender studies, international development, or a related field. Experience:
The level of experience required for this position includes a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in partnership building, project management, or a related field. Familiarity with the UN system and its operations, particularly in relation to gender equality, is also advantageous.

Languages:
The mandatory languages for this position are Russian and Kazakh, as they are the main working languages in Kazakhstan. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus.
