Job Overview:
The position is for enthusiastic young Arabic-speaking volunteers to participate in an online campaign organized by UN Women Jordan, aimed at celebrating International Women's Day and promoting Women’s Film Week. This campaign will run from March 17 to mid-April 2026, and volunteers will work as part of a larger team of 200 young advocates from across the Arab States. The role involves using creativity and voice to advocate for women's rights and gender equality, contributing to a regional movement that highlights women's achievements and stories. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in digital advocacy and social media campaigns, build a portfolio in communication and content creation, and receive a Certification of Appreciation from UN Volunteers along with special recognition from UN Women Jordan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will engage in several key activities during the campaign, including:
  • Social Media Storytelling: Developing visual social media cards to narrate the stories of women in Jordan, highlighting their accomplishments and contributions. Each volunteer is expected to create two stories.
  • Digital Advocacy: Sharing campaign messages on personal social media platforms to foster discussions about women's empowerment and equality, with a target of sharing ten posts.
  • Content Development: Writing short captions and descriptions in Arabic to accompany campaign visuals, ensuring that complex gender equality issues are presented in a youth-friendly manner. Each volunteer will develop two social media cards for the campaign.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be passionate about gender equality and women's rights, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation is essential. Volunteers should be creative, proactive, and willing to engage with diverse audiences to promote the campaign's messages.

Educational Background:
While there are no specific educational requirements, a background in communications, social sciences, gender studies, or related fields would be beneficial. Volunteers should have a good command of Arabic, both written and spoken, to effectively contribute to the campaign.

Experience:
No prior experience is required, but any experience in social media management, digital advocacy, or volunteer work related to gender equality would be an advantage. This role is particularly suited for young individuals looking to gain experience in advocacy and social impact initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, as the campaign will primarily target Arabic-speaking audiences. Knowledge of English or other languages would be considered a plus, enhancing the ability to engage with a broader audience.
