Job Overview: The position of Oficial Técnico de Finanzas y RRHH within the NRC's Regional Team for Latin America is crucial for ensuring effective financial management and human resources operations. The primary objective of this role is to lead the financial needs of the Regional Team in Latin America, ensuring proper management of accounting, tax, and budgetary requirements for the Regional Office. This includes overseeing administrative tasks related to recruitment and health and safety in the workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily accounting activities, monitoring balance accounts, processing tax payments, and completing monthly internal financial closures. Additionally, the role involves acting as the main point of contact with external accounting firms and payroll management, supporting the processing of bank transfers from the central office in Norway, and maintaining records of advances and expense justifications for both national and international staff. The position also entails assisting in the preparation of the master budget for the Regional Team and supporting recruitment processes, including contract preparation and documentation management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute daily accounting tasks for the office, ensuring accurate financial records.
Familiarity with accounting and tax regulations in Colombia.
Understanding of labor laws and regulations, including taxation.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and financial management software.
Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Intermediate level of English, both written and verbal, is required.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of financial management and human resources within the context of humanitarian operations.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in financial management and human resources, particularly within the humanitarian sector or similar environments. Experience in accounting practices, budget preparation, and compliance with local regulations is crucial. Familiarity with the challenges faced by displaced populations and the ability to work in complex and dynamic contexts will be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Candidates who do not possess proficiency in either language will not be considered for the role. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
Additional Notes: This position is a national direct employment contract with NRC for a duration of one year. Compensation and benefits will be in accordance with NRC's salary scales, and this position is classified as Grade
