Job Overview: The Technical Advisor – Mental Health, psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) & Protection is responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, implementation, and integration of mental health, psychosocial support, gender, and protection programming. This role is crucial for ensuring program quality, developing proposals, and building technical capacity while aligning with the country strategy and donor requirements. The advisor will also represent Action Against Hunger in various technical forums and coordination platforms, ensuring integrated programming across different sectors. This position requires a proactive approach to support program quality and address challenges in implementation, making it essential for the success of the organization's mission in Haiti.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership on MHPSS, protection, and gender integration across programs.
Support the development of high-quality project proposals and technical designs that align with the country strategy.
Ensure the integration of protection and MHPSS across various sectors.
Oversee project start-up activities, including recruitment and planning.
Conduct field visits to monitor program quality and address any implementation challenges.
Ensure quality donor reporting and internal program reporting.
Provide technical guidance to program teams and partners.
Train staff and partners on MHPSS, protection, and gender integration.
At least 2 years of experience in MHPSS, protection, or gender programming.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing mental health services.
Experience managing teams, including remote supervision.
Fluency in French is required.
Strong written and spoken English is required.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, or a related mental health field is mandatory for this position. A Master's degree in the same fields is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex mental health issues.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years specifically in MHPSS, protection, or gender programming. Additionally, 2 years of clinical experience providing mental health services is required, along with experience in managing teams, which includes remote supervision capabilities.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, as it is essential for communication within the local context. Strong written and spoken English is also required, facilitating effective communication with international stakeholders and partners.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and may require travel for program monitoring and coordination activities.
