Job Overview:
The position of Graphic and Editorial Designer at UNICEF Venezuela is crucial for the development and dissemination of materials that promote children's rights and the organization's work in the country. The selected individual will be responsible for creating various graphic design products, including infographics, social media content, and edited audiovisual materials. This role requires collaboration with the communications team to ensure that all designs align with UNICEF's branding and communication guidelines. The designer will work under the supervision of the Communications Officer and will be expected to produce high-quality materials that effectively communicate UNICEF's mission and programs for children in Venezuela.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic and Editorial Designer will undertake a variety of tasks, including:
  • Developing a range of graphic products, such as infographics, short videos, GIFs, and other audiovisual materials that highlight UNICEF's work in Venezuela and promote children's rights.
  • Supporting the programs and social behavior change (SBC) team in supervising and adapting design pieces as needed.
  • Making necessary modifications to create final versions of designs for print and electronic dissemination in various formats.
  • Assisting the communications team in reviewing and ensuring adherence to UNICEF's branding manual and communication guidelines.
  • Participating in any other activities or functions assigned by the communications section based on organizational needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong graphic design skills, proficiency in design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite), and a solid understanding of branding and communication principles. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Experience in creating materials for social media and knowledge of children's rights issues will be considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is required. Candidates with relevant certifications or additional training in design software will be preferred.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, with a portfolio showcasing previous work in creating promotional materials, infographics, and audiovisual content. Experience working in a non-profit or international organization is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all materials will be produced in this language. Proficiency in English is desirable but not required, as it may facilitate communication with international teams and resources.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Caracas, Venezuela, and offers a monthly sustenance allowance of 1299 USD, along with a pre-assignment allowance and a final assignment allowance upon completion of the contract, subject to conditions. Volunteers will also receive medical, dental, and hospital insurance, as well as life and disability insurance. The role is full-time and may involve collaboration with international teams.
