Job Overview: The Programme Partnerships Officer will play a crucial role in managing the KOICA-funded project ‘Sow and Grow’, which aims to enhance the livelihoods of marginalized smallholder farmers in Sri Lanka. This position involves providing overall project management support, ensuring effective implementation of the programme in alignment with the work plan and budget, and fostering collaboration with various units within WFP. The officer will be responsible for conducting assessments, analyzing data, and developing strategies to support government efforts in reducing hunger and malnutrition. The role requires a proactive approach to project management, including drafting reports and information products for stakeholders, and ensuring that the project meets its objectives in improving food security and resilience in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Partnerships Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Providing overall project management support to the KOICA-funded ‘Sow and Grow’ project.
Managing the partnership and correspondence with KOICA, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Coordinating with the Partnerships, Programme, and Budget and Programming units to ensure smooth implementation of the programme.
Conducting desk research and monitoring data gathering systems to maintain consistency in information presented to stakeholders.
Drafting briefs, reports, presentations, and other information products for national forums and meetings.
Following up on the resource situation of projects and assisting in project management through data analysis.
Liaising with internal counterparts to foster collaboration and monitor ongoing project activities.
Performing other tasks as required to support the programme's objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in International Development Studies, Environment Studies, Disaster Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of two years of relevant working experience in the subject matter is required. Experience with agriculture research centers or the private sector is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Key competencies include fluency in English and Korean, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in fields such as International Development Studies, Environment Studies, Disaster Management, or Social Sciences. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of food security, nutrition, and resilience initiatives, as well as for effectively managing partnerships and projects within the WFP framework.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas related to project management, food security, or agricultural development. Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within WFP and with international stakeholders. Additional Notes: This position is classified as an International Consultant role with a contract duration of 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The duty station for this role is Colombo, Sri Lanka, and it is open to international candidates only.
