Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all logistical activities of the mission to ensure the effective implementation of programs. This role involves ensuring compliance with SI procedures and tools, contributing to the definition of the mission strategy, and assessing the necessary resources. The Coordinator plans and evaluates equipment needs, anticipates acquisitions, and replaces obsolete materials. They support the bases in deploying new tools and contribute to enhancing the skills of field teams. Additionally, the Coordinator ensures logistical links between the headquarters and the mission. The position presents challenges such as managing logistics across three countries and seven operational bases, each with specific logistical and security constraints. The role requires adaptability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage stress effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Coordinator's responsibilities include managing logistics across multiple countries and diverse intervention contexts with significant security and access constraints. They will oversee logistical operations in the Extreme North of Cameroon, Eastern Chad, and the Central African Republic, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and efficient resource allocation. The Coordinator will conduct field visits to familiarize themselves with teams and contexts, finalize major project procurement files, and closely monitor emergency project purchases. They will also launch and adhere to project-specific procurement plans, enhance the use of internal ICT tools, and support the organizational setup in various operational zones. Furthermore, the Coordinator will focus on building the capacity of logistical teams at the bases to improve their autonomy and the quality of practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics, with a perfect knowledge of LINK and SI tracking tools. Technical skills in computer applications are essential. Candidates should be highly organized, capable of prioritizing and planning tasks effectively, and possess strong listening and teaching abilities. Experience in similar roles is crucial, with a minimum of 3-4 years in logistics and humanitarian sectors required.

Educational Background:
The position is open to candidates from all educational backgrounds, with no specific degree requirements stated. However, relevant experience in logistics and humanitarian work is essential.

Experience:

Languages:

  • The salary is competitive, starting at EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 60
  • SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the assignment location. During the mission, a work and leave alternation system is in place, allowing for breaks every three months, with additional rest days accrued monthly. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, and vaccination costs. Living conditions in Yaoundé are described as pleasant, with access to various restaurants, bars, and cultural or sports activities.
