Job Overview:
The Electrical Supervisor position at CIMMYT is a vital role within the Operations chapter, responsible for overseeing the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of various electrical systems and equipment. This includes emergency generators, UPS systems, substations, transformers, distribution panels, grounding systems, motors, and general electrical installations. The supervisor ensures compliance with safety standards, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and accurate documentation of maintenance activities. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and organizational skills to guarantee the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the facility’s electrical infrastructure. The Electrical Supervisor will also manage staff assignments, interpret technical diagrams, develop preventive maintenance schedules, monitor tools and materials, respond to electrical emergencies, and support the maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electrical Supervisor will coordinate predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities, assigning tasks and maintenance tickets to electrical personnel. They will ensure compliance with safety standards and proper PPE usage, interpret technical diagrams and blueprints, and respond to electrical emergencies while reporting faults to management. The supervisor will prepare daily inspection reports with findings and recommendations, generate near miss reports and work permits for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and record activities in the maintenance management system (D365), including tickets, work orders, KPIs, and compliance reports. Additionally, they will prepare monthly maintenance reports in ISO-9001 format. The supervisor will control daily inputs and outputs of supplies, conduct monthly inventories of supplies, tools, and equipment, evaluate the condition of tools and equipment, and develop annual maintenance programs. They will manage purchase requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment, develop annual preventive maintenance programs, prepare the annual current expenditure budget (OPEX), define annual objectives for the workshop and staff, and plan annual training programs. Furthermore, the supervisor will create staff shift rosters and weekly work plans, conduct semi-annual performance evaluations, and manage vacation requests and overtime reports.
