Job Overview:
The Communications Specialist at CIMMYT will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organization's reputation and digital presence. This position involves leading strategic planning for events, managing the entire content production cycle from concept to publication, overseeing digital channels, and monitoring performance metrics. The specialist will be responsible for aligning operational communications plans with CIMMYT's mission and strategic objectives, ensuring that communications campaigns effectively amplify policy and development impact across various regions including Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The role requires collaboration with researchers and technical experts to transform insights into compelling content, as well as the implementation of donor and partner communication plans to enhance engagement and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Specialist will manage operational communications plans that align with CIMMYT's mission and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include coordinating forward planning and deliverables for communications campaigns and strategic events, working with researchers to create clear content, monitoring campaign performance, and contributing to the overall communications strategy. The specialist will oversee the full content production cycle, ensuring high-quality content is developed for various platforms, and will establish editorial policies in line with CIMMYT guidelines. Additionally, the role involves coordinating internal communications, media relations, and digital communications strategies to position CIMMYT as a leader in food and agriculture. The specialist will also supervise the Content Analyst and manage a network of creators, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of communications materials.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, International Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field. They should have 4-5 years of professional experience in digital communications, content development, or social media management. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with proven experience in managing digital content and online engagement strategies. Strong writing and editing skills for web-ready communication products are essential, as well as proficiency in digital content management systems and social media platforms. An advanced level of English (C1 or higher) is mandatory.

Educational Background:
