Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the analysis of water quality. Under the guidance of the Section Head, they will collect and process samples, conduct data analysis, and contribute to research projects that utilize chemical and isotope tracers. Specific duties include assisting with the operation of ion-chromatographs to gather water quality data, evaluating performance tests with different water compositions, and operating laser spectrometers for water isotope data collection. Interns will also assess quality control processes for stable isotope data, measure samples for natural radioactivity, and assist in the post-processing of raw data. Additionally, they will contribute to training courses, collaborate on data analysis, and participate in scientific presentations and paper writing.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in chemistry, atmospheric sciences, physics, environmental sciences, hydrogeology, or a related field. Experience in a laboratory environment is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting. Skills in analytical chemistry are considered an asset, enhancing the intern's ability to contribute to the IAEA's projects and initiatives.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards a first degree.
