Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer position focuses on developing and strengthening digital systems and databases that support the work of the National Observatory for Integrity, Transparency, and Anti-Corruption Indicators. This project aims to enhance data management, analysis, and reporting processes to generate accurate and reliable statistical outputs that inform policymaking and promote good governance practices. The volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the National Observatory and will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the overall objectives of the initiative, including collaboration with IT teams, database management, and the development of analytical tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will undertake a variety of tasks including: collaborating with the IT programming team to enhance the software infrastructure of the National Observatory; designing, developing, testing, and maintaining databases and information systems; improving tools for generating statistical and analytical reports; supporting data integration processes; ensuring system efficiency, reliability, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security; troubleshooting technical issues; providing ongoing system maintenance and updates; contributing to workflow improvements related to data processing and reporting; preparing technical documentation for developed systems; participating in meetings and coordinating with internal stakeholders; and performing any other related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of database management and software development principles. They should demonstrate proficiency in programming languages relevant to database and application development, as well as experience with data analysis and reporting tools. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with anti-corruption initiatives and governance practices is an asset.

Educational Background:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas may be advantageous. Candidates should have a solid foundation in database design and management, as well as experience with software development methodologies.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in database management, software development, or related fields. Experience working with governmental or non-governmental organizations, particularly in the context of anti-corruption or governance, is highly desirable. The role may require familiarity with project management practices and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the volunteer's contributions.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer position, meaning that the volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of ILS 2692.06 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and living expenses. The position includes health, life, and permanent disability insurance. The duration of the contract and specific seniority level are not specified, but the role is expected to be full-time.
