Job Overview: The UN Volunteer Associate Registration and Identity Officer will operate under the delegated authority and supervision of the Senior Protection Officer or designated representative, with technical supervision from the Senior Registration and Identity Management Officer in Kampala. The officer will be responsible for overseeing registration and identity management activities in Yumbe Sub-Office, ensuring individual biographic and biometric enrolment, and the issuance of identity credentials. The role requires a proven experience in planning, implementing, and managing registration activities, as well as managing population data. The officer will ensure that registration processes are inclusive and efficient, while also considering the personal data protection needs of data subjects. The position involves timely recording of vital events of refugees and asylum-seekers in the proGres system, providing technical guidance and training to UNHCR staff and partners, monitoring registration activities for consistency with standard operating procedures, and implementing data quality control activities to prevent fraud. The officer will also facilitate access to services for refugees through trusted identity credentials and prepare population statistics as required.

The officer should have the ability to liaise and coordinate with various actors, manage information objectively and confidentially, and be responsive and client-oriented. Integrity, teamwork, respect for diversity, commitment to continuous learning, effective planning and organizing skills, and strong communication abilities are essential for this role.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a relevant educational background that aligns with the responsibilities of the position. This may include degrees or certifications in fields related to international relations, social sciences, or humanitarian work, which would provide the necessary knowledge and skills for effective performance in the role.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience in registration and identity management activities, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
