Job Overview: The Programme Consultant position at UNRWA is designed to support the effective delivery of leadership development initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of senior staff within the organization. The consultant will work closely with the Leadership Project Manager and the Staff Development Coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate various leadership initiatives. The position requires a proactive approach to designing interactive learning products and facilitating both online and in-person learning events. The consultant will also be responsible for monitoring participants' learning journeys, ensuring a seamless experience, and undertaking data analysis and reporting to inform program effectiveness. This role is essential for fostering a culture of leadership and accountability within UNRWA, ultimately contributing to the agency's mission of supporting Palestine refugees.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Consultant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of interactive learning products and resources.
Engaging with external vendors as necessary to enhance program offerings.
Organizing and facilitating online and in-person learning events, managing timelines, coordinating logistics, and communicating effectively with participants.
Monitoring and supporting participants throughout their learning journey to ensure a person-centered experience.
Collaborating with the Staff Care and Wellbeing division to integrate support mechanisms into leadership initiatives.
Drafting and producing a variety of written and audio-visual outputs for the program, as well as for social media and internal platforms.
Ensuring that all materials produced meet quality assurance standards and align with program requirements.
Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Leadership Project Manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree, preferably in international relations, social studies, adult learning, business administration, management, or a related field. Additionally, prior experience with the United Nations, international organizations, or Japanese NGOs is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in designing and implementing learning programs, demonstrating both creativity and effectiveness in educational methodologies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree is required for this position, with a preference for fields related to international relations, social studies, adult learning, business administration, management, or similar disciplines. This educational background will provide the necessary theoretical framework and practical skills needed to effectively contribute to the leadership development initiatives at UNRWA.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have prior experience working with the United Nations, international organizations, or Japanese NGOs. Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Japanese are mandatory for this position. Additional Notes: This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. However, it may involve missions to support the implementation of the leadership development program, with any associated travel costs covered separately by UNRWA. The consultant will report directly to the Leadership Project Manager and coordinate closely with the Staff Development Coordinator. The fee schedule for this position is set at USD $140 per working day, contingent upon the satisfactory delivery of agreed-upon deliverables. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, ensuring a fair and transparent hiring process.
