Job Overview: The Data Management Associate position is a critical role within the UNHCR, primarily focused on managing and overseeing the data infrastructure that supports the organization's fundraising efforts in Canada. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Data Management Associate include managing the use, maintenance, and technical support of databases, overseeing data collection and verification, generating statistical reports, providing training to staff, coordinating with GIS colleagues, archiving and backing up database systems, assisting in the development of new applications, ensuring databases are up-to-date, supporting registration and voluntary repatriation activities, developing forms and tools for data collection, managing risks, and performing other related duties as required. The role also involves monitoring database performance, scheduling backups, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, preparing reports and data analyses, providing technical support and training to staff, maintaining documentation of database systems, and fostering a culture of data literacy within the organization.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Data Management Associate position include a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Essential functional skills include database management, familiarity with UNHCR's programs, proficiency in ArcGIS, and computer literacy. Knowledge of English and the UN working language of the duty station is mandatory, with additional language skills in French being desirable.
